December 9, 2017 - New and experienced athletes joined Pentathlon Alberta for the first pentathlon meet of the 2017-18 season. Thirty-five athletes, ranging from Under 9 to Masters converged on the Repsol Sport Centre for this competition. Highlights of the day included 274 points (22V/5D) by Martin Gajardo (Junior) for the highest score in the fencing, and Ellis Fong (Under 11) completing her shooting series and 400m run in a time of 2:26 for the highest Laser-Run score of the day.  For those athletes attending their first competition, this local meet was the perfect relaxed atmosphere to get comfortable with the twists and turns of a day of pentathlon. For returning competitors the day provided an ideal opportunity to get back into competition routines. The final results can be found here. Well done to all athletes! We look forward to seeing you out at our next competition, 2018 Western Winter Nationals, hosted at the University of Calgary February 10th-11th.
